Tesla has opened a Flagship Showroom in London's Kensington
Located in Cheval Place in Kensington, which is round the corner from Harrods and with easy access to Heathrow (depending on the time of day and the traffic!), the new Tesla Showroom will be supplemented by Sales & Service Centres in Monaco, Munich and Zurich. The first Tesla Roadsters are due to be delivered to the UK this Summer – all of which will be the Tesla Roadster Signature Edition. However, if you don’t need to be an early adopter, you will be able to take delivery of a RHD Tesla Roadster from 2010.
The first LTI TX4 hydrogen-powered London Taxi
A hybrid fuel cell electric London cab has been revealed, but unlike recent developments with the traditional Black cab – where Mercedes are busy taking over - this experimental hydrogen-powered Cab is based on the familiar LTI TX4. The joy of using a hydrogen tank to run the batteries is that unlike a plug-in hybrid a refuel will take all of five minutes – no more than filling up with petrol or diesel would, A full tank will give a range of around 250 miles and – just like a plug-in BEV – the hydrogen powered cab is emission free at the point of use. The plan is to raise funding to produce a fleet of hydrogen powered Black Cabs in time for the London Olympics in 212.
An new Kia Concept – the Kia CUB – is heading for the 2013 Seoul Motor Show and is a compact four-door coupe with added funk. As Kia moves more upmarket its concepts become more convincing. Recently, we’ve had the Kia GT – a high-end, powerful swoopy coupe that looks like it’s heading for production – and the Kia Provo which caused consternation in Northern Ireland but looks equally likely to head in to production as the Kia take on the MINI Countryman or Nissan Juke.
